![]() ![]() ![]() Both of these works are conducted by Binge himself. Having said that, the first CD features the (slightly) more serious side to Binge's work-including the Saxophone Concerto, jaunty and melting by turns, and the substantial, intriguing Saturday Symphony. Amusingly, Binge's most famous number, "Elizabethan Serenade", is placed first as if to invite us to get the nostalgia for the Home Service's Children's Favourites programme off our chests and then proceed with the business of exploring the wealth of other classics which show just why "Ronnie" was so valued by the likes of the great Mantovani as a composer/arranger. This release is a welcome addition to the ASV stable of British light music.
